sundered the podcast is on indefinite hiatus

My hope when I rebooted Sundered for season 2 would be that I could take this experiment in podcasting and manage a regular schedule. Unfortunately, it’s quickly become apparent that the ever-increasing workload and stress-load that has me under fire in my personal life is basically making it impossible to manage Sundered. You see, I’m not just recording an episode of pre-written material every three weeks. While there is a backbone of already-written plot arcs, most of the material is being written as I go. I could limp along for a while, getting the odd episode out, but there will be some upheaval in my life later this Autumn and, anyway I look at it, it’s only going to get harder to produce the series. I deeply, deeply regret doing this, but for now, I must put Sundered on hold.

The thing that really stings about this is that I was extremely excited to share the upcoming stories with you. We hadn’t even gotten to many of the main cast of characters—hardest of all to lose.

This isn’t the end of Sundered. It’s just too hard to say goodbye to these stories. New content will be coming down the pike. I will be completing at least the last three parts of “The Four Who Came”, and the follow-up novella “Dissoluble”, and will post PDFs of these stories here in the feed once they become available. Unfortunately, they will not be in recorded audio podcast form. If you’re interested in reading on in the Sundered universe, keep an eye on this site, or keep subscribed to the feed.

I hugely appreciate the time each of you have taken to listen to this material, and especially to those of you who took a moment to post a comment, or send me an email. I really do hope that the stories that did make it into production, here, provided a little enjoyment.

Thanks again to everyone for journeying into the Wastes with me. Who knows, we may meet again for new adventures there in the future.

I’ll miss the podcasts, even if the release schedule was a bit erratic at times (well, actually the entire time). Either way, May the Force be with You…Always!

I enjoyed your series while it lasted, and I look forward to the pdf’s whenever they come out.

That said, as my favorite podcasters have commented; the first thing that builds a big audience is the quality of content, the second is a quick and consistent release schedule. While you definitely had a good story, I got the feeling I’d be a very old man by the time the bulk of it came out.

You’ve clearly been dealing with a lot throughout this, best of luck and I hope to hear your work again someday!

vios con dios, there was so much potential here, I will miss it greatly. It is much work to take a project like this through to completion, and life has a way of interfering. Consider that there are production companies that would love to turn your scripts into podcasts.

    just sayin….

Raphael, thank you for the stories; the first season will remain among some of my favorite podoworx.

It’s sad to hear the podcast is on hiatus, but sometimes you just have to take care of life matters. I am excited to hear of PDFs being made available, though. I hope everything turns out all right with you, and that one day you can take Sundered out of hiatus.
