the rat’s wheel
Ladies and gentlemen, for the last two weeks and more I’ve been pulling seven day work weeks, which stretch long into the evenings, whilst simultaneously fighting a losing battle to the flu. The result has been that my mind resembles something like a cheap sponge used to mop up battery acid, and then left in the sun… in a puddle of motor oil. Or thereabouts. I’ve tried to write and have soldiered on a bit, though this isn’t really the most conducive creative environment and I’ve had to throw much of the work out as sub-par.
There is light at the end of the tunnel. The work project consuming my being is at last coming to an end, so I hope to return to some semblance of normalcy by Sunday (we’ll see about that flu thing). Hang in there, I’m working on the next episode, it’s coming, and I won’t let it be anything less than the best I can write.
We’ll be exploring Stronghold before you know it.

7 day work weeks are a major pain. I worked a temp job a couple years ago that lasted from October thru about March, working 10 hour shifts, 7 days/week, so I can empathize with the situation.
Hope you feel better soon.
