This weekend UPDATED

Updated: Episode 5 is now recorded and well into post-production. I didn’t delete it—whoo-hoo! I’ll drop it in the feed just as soon as I wade through editing all the content.

Hi everyone,

Well, last night I recorded the next episode of Sundered and sorta kinda accidentally, er, uh, deleted the recording. It was one of those priceless “NOOOOOOOOO!!!!” moments like they always depict in slow-motion in movies.

I’ll be away on the 4th, but this weekend, I’ll record a super jumbo-sized episode to sort of make up for it. As an added bonus, because of the extra length, there will be a real doozy of a cliffhanger for you as well.

Following this episode, there should be two more episodes left in “Steel Drum”, then I think it will definitely be time to move on to a couple of shorter pieces just to cool off after this big beast.

A happy Fourth of July to my American listeners, and… um… a happy fourth of July to all other listeners!

Doh! I did something like that at work the other day. Am I sure I want to empty the trash? Yes I do, and let me just…OH NO!!! 4 hours of intense work down the crapper. After a few deep breathes and a walk around the cubes later it was all good.

By the way have you been listening to 7th Son Obsidian? The latest author written segment by Mur Lafferty is fantastic.

    Super jumbo-size = Good

Sam — a collective “Aargh!!” for everyone who has had one of those moments!

Good old Hutch — he’s remained a pioneer of event podcasting, hasn’t he? I haven’t gotten to Mur’s part, but what I’ve listened to so far has been fabulous, and it’s really great to have J.C. chiming in with his customary intros and outros, don’t you think?

Do you listen to the UltraCreatives Interview series? I’m just loving the latest episodes he’s sprinkled in among the Obsidian madness.

    Happy Fourth!

    Super-jumbo sized? Woot!

As for deleting things… I think I’ve deleted segments of my show at least 3 times… and I haven’t even made 10 shows yet! At least I only loose a few minutes… a whole episode? Ouch!

Oh no! I had a similar sort of accident, too. As a wanna-be writer, I was working on the laptop, using Bean in Full Screen mode… which hides EVERYTHING. The battery died, and I hadn’t hit Save in a good half hour. These little flubs keep life interesting, eh? :)

Happy 4th to you as well!

I like to think of disasters like this as character building. Really, I think we should all be thankful that we had suffered these ordeals. They’re so enriching.

Stephen — anyone with 10 episodes under their belts is a seasoned pro from my point of view! :)

Holy ____! That really sucks Raphael. Well, these things happen for a reason, right? Just look at the first (deleted) reading as a practice run and this reading will be your all-time masterpiece. Good luck with the jumbo episode…I’m looking forward to it.
